Best Vape Mods of 2021
We explore the many various vape mod kits available this year ranking them in order of power and performance and good old usability. Firstly though, for those not fully initiated into the vaping world, what is a vape mod?
What are Mods?
A vape mod cannot be defined by shape or size. Though they will all have similar functional features, such as a fire button, display screen, battery charging and power options with a usable function button.
They will also be packing a battery of sorts; these are either integrated into the Mod or are replaceable. The experienced vaper will be more than capable of dealing with battery replacements, but the beginner may need to read up on this subject first.
Powerful Mods
For shear power the first prize must go to the Aegis X from Geekvape. Capable of hitting a maximum power of 200 watts you are assured of some serious cloud creation and enhanced e-liquid flavours.
The Geekvape Aegis X is a 200-watt box mod, which not only packs a punch but is extremely durable, certified to be protected from water and dust. It contains the impressive AS 2.0 chipset enabling fast and efficient variable settings that give this Mod its impressive punch.
Various Vape Mods
There are of course many other Mods on the market who many would suggest are better than the Aegis in terms of usage and performance. Though when it comes to power the Aegis X certainly takes home first prize.
But what about the other reputable Mods performing well within the vape community?
Voopoo Drag X Plus
The Voopoo Drag X Plus is certainly another Mod that should be included in the top Mod conversation. The Drag X Plus has a 100-watt power output, which is more than ample for most, and contains the Gene Fan 2.0 chipset, giving plenty of options and aids simplicity in the set-up process.
Many say that when it comes to an efficient and speedy vaping experience, then the Drag X Plus is leading. It is difficult to argue against that, given the additional features the Drag X packs.
Best of 2021 Rated
Other powerful Mods that have endured the test of time include and that we believe to be up as the best this year, include:
- Voopoo Drag 3
- Smok Morph 219
- Aspire Mixx
- Dovpo range
Rating Mods
The elements that make these Mods some of the best, are subject to personal choice. One man’s preference is not that of another’s. And this is certainly the case when it comes to a vaping Mod.
We have focused on power, from our review angle, but that doesn’t mean to say a Mod offering a wealth of power is the best Mod. There are many other reasons as to why we fancy the Aegis X as one of the best, if not the best Mod on the market.
A desirable vaping experience is usually found somewhere between a power setting of 50 – 90 watts, anything beyond that is often overkill.
Determining beneficial factors for Mod kits, isn’t always going to consider the needs of a beginner. If you are a beginner, a Mod may come across as an intimidating piece of machinery. If you are using a pod to compensate for smoking cigarettes, then you may be looking to acquire a more intuitive vaping kit, then a Mod can be a natural progression.
Experienced Vapers
The more experienced vaper will take onboard factors which consider power output, as a greater understanding of tanks and how power settings can impact battery life will be within their radar.
Therefore, we consider power to be a major factor when rating a Mod device.
Coil Factors
The world of coils is another area which would be new a beginner, understanding how a coils resistance may influence a Mods capability is another area we consider to be a major rating factor.
We want to provide an assessment based on performance, and durability and the vaping experience acquired from the usage of different Mods.
Understanding Ohm and Power settings
Coils are measured in ohms and the power is what your Mod is capable of producing and measured in watts. Typical sub-ohm tanks come with coils offering a low resistance, as low as 0.15ohms. These types of coil are only operating to their peak from a Mod offering high power settings, along the lines of 60 watts, up to around 90 watts maximum.
Be mindful that when running a Mod at high power the battery life can impacted quite quickly.
